Eid Moonsighting Event / 30th Purley Scouts Iftar Under the Stars

As-Salamu Alaiykum,

Hosted by Shaykh Suliman Gani – the Imam of Purley Masjid, and 30th Purley (Masjid) Scouts Group - revive the Sunnah by joining us at a special event on Sunday 1st May, to have Iftar together and sight the moon marking the start of Shaw’wal*

Let’s continue the tradition and make this an exciting event, especially for the children to learn the Sunnah of moonsighting

Time

Arrive by 7.30pm

(Iftar / Maghrib Salah will be at 8.27pm)

Riddlesdown Common, Purley

Do NOT park in the Riddlesdown Common car park - the gates close at 9.00pm, and the Park Ranger will not make any exceptions

If you park in the car park, you will be locked in until the following morning!

Iftar

Please bring your own Iftar including drink, and share with others, especially with non-Muslims who are being invited

Bring a picnic sheet

Litter

Please bring bags to dispose of your own litter and any rubbish around you

Look after the environment


Telescopes / Binoculars

There will be some at the event for you to use, but bring your own telescopes or binoculars to use


Maghrib Salah

Bring a prayer mat for Maghrib Salah

Come with Wudhu; there are *no facilities at the Common*

This event runs in parallel to the Muslim Scout Fellowship’s ’Iftar Under the Stars’ programme, hosted by 30th Purley (Masjid) Scouts Group
