Hifdh Class
Welcome to the Purley Masjid Hifdh Class
Memorise the Qur’an. Perfect your recitation. Build a lasting connection with the Book of Allah.
At the Purley Masjid Hifdh Class, we aim to provide a focused and supportive environment where students can develop their Qur’an memorisation while strengthening the quality and confidence of their recitation.
Hifdh is not simply about memorising words. It is about developing a lasting relationship with the Qur’an — reciting it correctly, revising it consistently and carrying it with confidence throughout life.
Our approach focuses on strong memorisation, accurate Tajweed and confident recitation, while encouraging students to develop discipline, consistency and a genuine love for the Qur’an.
What We Focus On
Our Hifdh programme is designed around three key areas:
Qur’an Memorisation – helping students memorise the Qur’an systematically, with clear daily targets and an emphasis on strong, accurate memorisation.
Tajweed & Pronunciation – correcting pronunciation and recitation, developing proper application of Tajweed rules and helping students recite the Qur’an as accurately as possible.
Confident Recitation – developing fluency and confidence so that students can recite their memorised portions independently, clearly and with greater ease.
Memorise with Understanding & Purpose
We believe that successful Hifdh requires more than simply memorising new portions every day.
Students are encouraged to develop good habits of daily revision, regular practice and consistent recitation so that what they memorise remains strong.
Our teachers work with students according to their individual ability and progress, helping them set achievable targets while maintaining a high standard of accuracy.
The aim is not simply to memorise more — but to memorise well and retain what has been memorised.
A Supportive Hifdh Environment
Every student progresses differently. Some may memorise quickly, while others may need more time and repetition.
Our aim is to create an environment where students feel encouraged, supported and motivated throughout their Hifdh journey.
We want students to develop:
Consistency and discipline
Better concentration and listening
Confidence in recitation
A strong habit of revision
Love and respect for the Qur’an
A sense of achievement and responsibility
We encourage students to take ownership of their Hifdh journey and gradually become more independent in their memorisation and revision.
Our Approach
At the Purley Masjid Hifdh Class, we believe that quality comes before quantity.
A smaller amount memorised accurately and retained well is more valuable than rushing through large portions without a strong foundation.
Our approach therefore places importance on:
New Memorisation → Tajweed Correction → Revision → Confident Recitation
Through this balanced approach, we aim to help students build a strong and lasting relationship with the Qur’an.
Our Vision
Our vision is to nurture a generation of young Muslims who are connected to the Qur’an, confident in their recitation and committed to preserving what they have memorised.
We pray that every student who joins our Hifdh Class develops not only the ability to memorise the Qur’an, but also a lifelong love and respect for the words of Allah ﷻ.
Purley Masjid Hifdh Class — Memorise with purpose. Recite with confidence. Carry the Qur’an for life.
