Membership Process Guide
The following outlines the application process to become a member of Purley Islamic Community Centre, operating as Purley Masjid (“Purley Masjid”). Further clarification can be found at FAQ – Membership.
Membership Applications can only be submitted online - If you have any difficulties regarding this process, please contact management@purleymasjid.com for assistance.
The membership fee has been set at £500 per Local Member and £20 per Friends of Purley Masjid. Subject to confirmation in the membership form that the applicant is a UK taxpayer, Purley Masjid will aim to collect Gift Aid on membership fees. (“Local” and “Friends of Purley Masjid” Member definitions are provided in the Membership Terms & Conditions document).
Step 1- Your Personal Details
Provide your personal information in the correct format.
You will need a mobile number and an email address unique to you (e.g. not another family member’s or a generic group email).
You must confirm whether or not you are a UK taxpayer in order that Purley Masjid may claim Gift Aid on your payment.
Step 2 - Declaration
You must certify that you meet all the criteria listed to be eligible for membership.
Step 3 - Terms & Conditions
Read and confirm your acceptance of the Terms and Conditions and Code of Conduct.
Required Documents
You are required to upload your proof of ID and proof of address. This is a requirement for every applicant. You must include either a copy of your passport or driver’s license and any other acceptable document indicating your current address (within preceding 3 months), such as a utility bill, council tax bill, bank statement or letter from HMRC. If your address has changed over the last 3 years, please email us proof of your current address e.g. a utility bill, council tax bill or HMRC letter which is not more than 3 months old to management@purleymasjid.com. Mobile phone bills are not acceptable.
If you do not upload your documents then your membership application will not be considered.
If your documents are not complete or are insufficient, you will be notified to resolve the issue within an appropriate limited timeframe.
Payment for Membership
Completion of the membership process is subject to your payment being received
Membership Status
If your application is complete and accurate (membership form, documents and payment) within the relevant deadlines, you will be notified by email that your application has been successful.
If your application has been rejected and you wish to appeal the decision, then you must do this by email to management@purleymasjid.com within 5 days of
notification. Purley Masjid’s decision following the appeal process will be final.
